INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING.
THEME “HEALTH FOR JUSTICE. JUSTICE FOR HEALTH”
ON 26 JUNE 2019 @ NEW HAVEN SECONDARY SCHOOL ENUGU
Daniel Ukwu Leadership foundation participated in the INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING. THEME “HEALTH FOR JUSTICE. JUSTICE FOR HEALTH” held on 26 JUNE 2019
@ NEW HAVEN SECONDARY SCHOOL ENUGU
The aim is to educate Secondary School Students on the danger of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. And also to reduce the number of Drug Abusers in our Society through awareness creation and sensitization.
It also reminds us that for many people affected by drug use and drug trafficking, justice remains elusive – whether due to extrajudicial reprisals, disproportionate criminal justice responses, impediments to treatment and social reintegration or the legal and societal stigma which continues to be associated with drug use and dependence.
“I welcome the theme of this International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking – ‘health for justice, justice for health’ – underlining the importance of a holistic approach involving health, human rights, criminal justice and social service institutions.”
— UN Secretary-General António Guterres
